Saab 93 T8 ECU repair service
The T8 ECU revision. The product we became known for at the beginning of 2020 and what we sold our knowledge of back to Hedin. The T8 ECU is a beautiful ECU, T8 stands for Trionic 8th generation, which was a name SAAB gave to their ECUs.
With this service we repair your ECU for the current defect it has, which can be one of the following code series that you can find below. We also measure a number of other chips so that you can enjoy your ECU for an average of 2 to 6 years after our repair. All ECUs are tested on one of our cars. In this case on our B207 93NG with more than half a million km. (of which more than 250k km's were ECU test km's)
We repair the T8 Saab 93 ECU for the following error codes:
- P0201, P0202, P0203, P0204, P0245, P0246 (injector errors).
- P0686, P0687, P0691, P0693, P0695 (fan errors).
- P0601, P0606, P0628 (internal error / rom error / fuel control error)
- P1682 (in some cases revisable)
- P0638 (throttle valve malfunction, in some cases revisable).
- P2135, P2138, P2122, P0122 throttle valve malfunction. (in some of the cases revisable).
If your ECU has these codes, your ECU is eligible for an overhaul. The standard overhaul includes a heat shield. This is done deliberately, as we do not send any ECU out the door without protection! This standard option comes with a 1-year warranty and 15 days extra so that you can safely install the ECU. However, you can opt for extra heat protection such as: - The 2M relocation kit, with which we extend your warranty period to 2 years.
However, the relocation kits take some time to make. Keep this in mind if you choose one of these options.
During the repair of your ECU, we test your Saab 93 T8 ECU for a number of known errors. For example, we may first test your ECU on our test engine and, if in doubt, put it on the car to drive and test it for a while. This way we can guarantee that once you have your T8 ECU back, your T8 ECU will give you a lot of Saab driving pleasure again.
Please note:
On average, your ECU will last 2 to 6 years after a revision with a heat shield kit. This depends on the other chips internally. At the time we perform the revision, we only repair the current defects and measure a number of other known defects.
Disclaimer: it is possible that other errors occur after a revision than you originally had, ask us whether this error can come from the ECU or from the car, as it is possible your ECU was masking other fault codes from occuring due to it being the leading fault or not being driveable enough to trigger the other faults from occuring.
Also note: We ship your ECU back with the software you send it to us with, if you change the software it works the same way as it would with factory meaning:
ECU's ending on PN 688 or 571 will only work on 2003 and 2004 models with SAI.
ECU's ending on PN 231 will depending on whether its an early 231 ECU with SAI only work on MY 2004 or will work on MY 2005 + 2006.
ECU's ending on 1881 or 020 will only work on facelift interiour / exteriour cars upwards to 2012, without SAI
ECU's ending on 225 will work on cars from 2008 to 2012 with or without SAI. This ECU can if it was previously programmed to fit on a SAI car and then being SPS'd to a none SAI car give an error for this
These are issues you have to solve yourself as we deliver the ECU back to you with the software it came to us with.
Also note for US costumers
We do not send any ECU's to the US other then via our partner ESaabParts.
